ABOUT US
Sponsored
by the Green Mountain Cultural Center
[non-profit
501 (C) (3)], the
Green Mountain Opera Festival is
truly a unique gem of a festival in Central Vermont. Our home is at the
Joslyn Round Barn in Waitsfield
with full opera productions performed at the historical
Barre Opera House. Our audiences are warm and extremely
enthusiastic.
As the founding Artistic Director of Vermont's professional
opera festival, my mission is to enrich the cultural lives of Vermonters
and of its visitors by consistently presenting high quality professional
opera productions and concerts. The GMOF also firmly believes in
integrating Vermont's vast artistic community with today's working opera
professionals both national and international.
Festival activities include free open rehearsals, various concerts both
operatic and broadway style, free master classes with renown opera singers
such as Phyllis Curtin, and of course a fully staged, costumed opera
production accompanied by the Green Mountain Opera
Orchestra and Chorus.
